How can the State of New York get its residents to produce less waste by 2030? This brief was created through the participation of D&AD New Blood Shift NYC internship. Changing human behavior is quite a feat, to do so people must be given a valid reason for change to occur. Further, people need leaders to lead the way towards a brighter future. Our air is polluted by various factors: transportation, waste production, and deforestation, to name a few. The leaders that will pave the way to a healthier life are: Handy services, Tesla Inc., Ikea and Waste Management. First, Handy will clean your home and deposit the trash from people’s homes, then Tesla will provide solar powered trucks to transport the trash. Additionally, as Ikea is a sustainable furniture producer, they will provide homes with the best quality, most ecofriendly products. Finally, Waste Management will recycle the trash for fuel efficiency and the reuse of biodegradable products. As social media is the most used and most accessible form of communication in 2017, the public will be informed through internet campaigns, as well as fliers that will be posted throughout the city.
As one of the finalists in D&AD New blood shift 2017 NYC, we were assigned a brief to make Spotify the cultural force in music. In order for people to believe in Spotify as the cultural force in music, Spotify must cover all aspects of the culture. Culture Connect will be how the culture connects with the artist. The amount of plays a user has towards an artist on the global viral 50 list will qualify them to win the prize of spending a day with an artist on the list. The concept is to give the most dedicated music listeners a taste of what a day in the life of a musician feels like. The top 50 listeners will attend a Spotify session with the artist whose song was played the most in the month. The top 25 listeners will attend sound check and a session. Top 5 listeners will attend lunch, Spotify radio interview, sound check, and a session. The top listener partakes in an interview for Spotify radio, Culture Connect interview, a photo shoot to be used for promotion of Culture Connect, lunch, sound check and the Spotify session. Connecting Culture will solidify Spotify as the cultural force in music for years to come.
